Wise Women- Gregorio Acuña

Gregorio Acuña has been studying and practicing shamanism for 30 years of his life. 

 

His healing journey started 30 years ago in El Paso, Texas with a Chapter of The Native American Church and the use of peyote. There and in Jalisco Mexico, Gregorio studied with Don Andreas Jimenez Valenzuela, an elder Marakame (Shaman) from the Huichol Indian Tribe in Mexico two years, before being invited by the elder to become a Matawame (Shaman’s Apprentice). Gregorio was initiated in the the Order of Marakames 10 years later in the Huichol Indian Pueblo of Nueva Colonia, Mexico. 

 

During that time period, Gregorio also studied and apprenticed with Don Ernesto Nerey, a well known and respected elder Spiritual Medium and Curandero in El Paso, TX and was initiated as a Curandero by him. Gregorio is also a Certified NLP and Hypnotherapy Practitioner and has been practicing both since 1998. 

 

Over the past 30 years Gregorio has helped 1,000’s of people, including children and families, heal and improve their lives through ancient Shamanism, Curanderismo and and other modern healing modalities. He established the first non-profit in Oregon to provide shamanic and non-traditional healing services to children and families in the Oregon Mental Health System, Multnomah County Detention Center for Youth, homeless youth in Oregon for 15 years. 

 

Gregorio currently resides in Arizona, where he established a private practice and helps adults and youth from all walks of life by providing counsel, ceremony, ritual, and retreats to heal themselves and improve their quality of life and state of being.
